10 Game-Changing Twitter Shortcuts
Discover the 10 simple keyboard hacks that will change the way you use Twitter.
Twitter has some incredibly handy keyboard shortcuts that few know about. Despite having more than 500 million users worldwide, the social media site’s hidden keyboard has remained on the down-low…until now.
To keep you in the know, we’ve put together a list of our 10 ten favourite shortcuts, in 140 characters or less.
Go Hard or Go Home
GH = Home
There’s no place like home! Pressing 'g h' on your keyboard is the quickest way to return to your home Twitter feed after hours of profile hopping!
Worth A Mention
GR = Mentions
If your mentions are non-stop, save your fingers the hardship of scrolling and press “g r” instead.
Haters Gonna Hate
B = Block
Blocking keyboard warriors and Twitter trolls is as easy as holding down ‘b’.
GU = Users' profiles
Instead of using the search box, pressing 'g u' will launch a handy pop-up. Just type in the name of the user you’re searching for and their profile will automatically load.
N = New Tweet
If you’re suddenly feeling inspired, pressing 'n' on your keyboard will launch the 'What's happening?' box.
Like 4 Like
L = Like
The next time you feel like you have to acknowledge a tweet, but can’t think of a witty reply, just press ‘l’ to like it instead.
What’s the T
T = Retweet
Expanding a tweet and holding down ‘t’ is an easy way to share cute pictures of kittens with your followers.
Reply or Die
R = Reply
In case you were wondering what the ‘r’ stands for, it’s reply! Just like retweet and like, this function only works if you’ve opened up a tweet in the pop-up window.
Get the Message
M = Direct Message
The letter 'm' holds the key to your direct messages. All you need to do is type in the recipient's Twitter handle and type away.
The Holy Grail
? = Load Shortcut Menu
You can access all these shortcuts by pressing the ‘?’ key. This will launch all of Twitter's shortcuts in an easy-to-read menu.
