Ever wondered how some people can turn the most ordinary photos into pictures of perfection? All you need to do is tweak some different elements with the right editing tool. Luckily for you, we’re sharing our pick of the best.
1. VSCO
VSCO is one of the best and most popular photo editing apps out there. It’s got loads of great filters and doubles up by being a source of inspiration for your own photos. It also has a very user-friendly interface and even has its own community too.
2. Snapseed
What’s great about Snapseed is that it allows you to apply different edits to different parts of an image. You can see exactly what your image looked like before your edits were made and again, it’s super easy to use.
3. A Colour Story
This app is great if you want really brightly-coloured photos - it’s got loads of great filters to choose from. But here’s our favourite thing about it. You can save your editing workflow, which you can use again and again to edit your images. This gives your photos consistency and results in one cohesive feed.
4. Afterlight
Afterlight lets you add grain and texture, plus change the brightness and contrast. It’s like your photos come to life when you use this app. Ever wondered how people make their photos circular or give them texture? It’s Afterlight.
5. Facetune
Thought Facetune was solely for selfies? Think again. Admittedly, you can brighten dark circles and get rid of blemishes, but it's also useful for cleaning up still life shots, whitening magnolia-painted walls and blurring backgrounds.
