Content

Instagram is essentially a virtual shop window for brands, so you need to lure your customers in with strong and engaging visuals. One of the best ways to do this is via user generated content; a recent study by Crowd Riff found that millennials believe UGC is 35% more memorable than other media.

Captions

Captions are the first place potential customers will look for information, so make sure that you talk about our your product. Directing customers to the shoppable link in your bio or providing them with a searchable product code to find their favourite items online will help to convert browsers into buyers.

Hashtags

Don’t wait for potential customers to come to you, instead reach out to them using low-density hashtags. Targeting a niche audience will increase your chances of being discovered by your target market. You can add up to 30 hashtags to an Instagram post, but many marketers believes this can look spammy. We find that between 5-10 ensures the best engagement.

Calls to Action

’Click the link in our bio’ or ‘DM us for more details’ are two classic calls to action, worth including underneath your posts. Prompting your followers to browse products online or make enquiries is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your online store. Instagram Stories have proven to be a great traffic referral for brands. So make sure you're pushing your products here when possible.

Product Galleries

Third party apps like Planoly and Snapppt allow you to recreate your Instagram feed, directing your followers from the link in your bio to a dedicated shoppable gallery with direct links to your e-commerce site. This is arguably one of the easiest ways to encourage users to shop what they see on social.
