How to Optimise Your Linkedin Profile

Daniel Flay shares his top tips for optimising your company LinkedIn.

First impressions count, which is why an optimised LinkedIn profile is incredibly important for businesses hoping to connect with like-minded professionals.

The following tips will not only help with personal branding and assist with building a powerful presence on the platform, but will also help boost your discoverability both on-site and via Google.

Choosing a Name

When inputting your ‘Company Name’, bear in mind that this will form part of your company’s LinkedIn URL and directly impact the discoverability of your page.

Do Your Research

Before you think about optimising your profile, make a list of the key terms and phrases that you would like your company page to rank for.

Company Description

Optimise your profile with keywords in the Company Description. LinkedIn is highly indexable, so be sure to include specialist search terms that your brand wants to rank highly for here.

Regular Updates

Keep things fresh by adding regular status updates. The best times to post are early mornings before work, and midday when users are scrolling on their lunch break.

Get Your Employees Involved

Employees should be as visible as your business. Encourage employees to optimise their profiles, embedding key words in their custom URLs, job title, descriptions, content links and content.
