When you're a freelancer, it can be tough finding somewhere that serves a good cup of coffee and has a reliable wi-fi connection - especially in London. So the next time you're in need of a caffeine fix on-the-go, or need to escape the confines of your home office, head to one of the following, they really do make for the perfect out-of-office excursion.

TimberYard's bare brick walls, comfy arm chairs and distressed vintage furnishings are a freelancer's dream - not to mention an Instagram opportunity waiting to happen. Grab a speciality brew and snack on artisan treats as you type the day away.

7 Upper St Martin's Lane, London WC2H 9DL

If Lights of Soho's neon installations weren't reason enough to head down for a cappuccino and a change of scenery, then maybe its cocktail bar is the motivation that you need to power on through. As well as being a great spot to entertain clients, there's plenty to check out once you've finished your 9-5, too.

35 Brewer Street, London W1F 0RX

While you do need to be a member, Shoreditch House is one of the best spots to tackle your to-do list in London. From its laidback rustic lounge to its dedicated workspace area, there’s plenty of quiet spots for you to pen a feature or answer your emails. When lunch hour calls try the Flat Iron Chicken or the Mac & Cheese (a TFD fave).

1 Ebor Street, London E1 6AW

Light, bright and spacious, this cultural hub is certainly no stranger to freelancers and creatives in search of a contemporary spot for mid-morning meetings and make-shift offices. Swap coffee for cocktails after an especially hard day of being a boss. We'd recommend the 'Don't Go to Dalston'.

100-106 Leonard Street, London EC2A 4RH

Riding House Café may be known for its legendary weekend brunches, but it's also the perfect spot for a quick bite and a caffeine fix in between meetings. Let your creative juices flow as you tap away in the stylish surrounds of this neighbourhood hangout. If you're feeling peckish, the Hot-Smoked Salmon Salad is real brain food!

43-51 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 7PQ
