What Does Twitter Moments Mean for Brands?

Twitter Moments is changing.

The micro-blogging site is giving brands and influencers access to its ‘Moments’ feature - a tool which will soon be available to all users.

The Moments tab currently groups together popular content from across Twitter and allows users to track developing news stories and trending topics.

Moments will enable brands to curate and share a selection of tweets that relate to a specifc 'event' or 'theme'. For example, during fashion week luxury brands will be able to devise a feed which provides seamless coverage of their shows.

Moments will give brands wider coverage of current events and work to showcase content that is sometimes missed - think of it as Pinterest for Tweets.

The update is inevitably being compared to Stories by Snapchat and Instagram but unlike its social media rivals, users will be able to scroll through featured tweets, images and videos in the same way they browse their timelines - but without fear of missing out.

In a recent blog post, Twitter explained "By extending this creative format to more people, and eventually to everyone on Twitter, we are giving people a new and dynamic way to tell their stories.

We love seeing people express themselves creatively on Twitter every day and we’re excited to see how new creators will tell their stories using Moments."
